Out of Time, by Nadine Brandes. (Book 1, Out of Time Series)

How would you live if you knew the day you'd die? Parvin Blackwater believes she has wasted her life. At only seventeen, she has one year left according to the Clock by her bedside. In a last-ditch effort to make a difference, she tries to rescue Radicals from the government's crooked justice system. But when the authorities find out about her illegal activity, they cast her through the Wall -- her people's death sentence. What she finds on the other side about the world, about eternity, and about herself changes Parvin forever and might just save her people. But her clock is running out.

"Tally-ho, Parvin-girl. I'll see you soon."

-"You can't listen to bugs, but you can eat them?" I shudder. "You are strange, Jude-man. Strange."

-“My faith isn’t in time, it’s in God.” “Then why are you hesitant to help your people? Why do you insist onpawning off the hard jobs to others? Tell me”—he leans forward again—“what is your purpose here?”

-“Ribbons! Long ones, short ones, ones for every mood." He does a little dance to the singsong rhythm. "Thin ones, thick ones, and ones to tie your shoes!”

-“God doesn’t make empty Numbers.”

Okay, one sec--- VIOLENT COUGH--- okay, I'm just barely sustainable. This book is fantasical, miraclous, enthralling, and inspirational. It's just one of those books that even if you tried really hard, you can't ever forget, like, ever. It's one that sticks to your heart with a warm hug, while also wiping a tear or 600 (not that I have experience with those tears). Not enough words, even that I am typing, will do justice. I can't write its pure detail.  Okay, first things first, thank you so much to my friends for showing me this series Audrey and Finlee! They have their own blogs, check 'em out!  I love that this book evolves around God. Its a good Dystopian-Christian fiction but doesn't feel cringe, preachy (maybe a little), or flat like many movies (or other books). I could relate to Parvin, and her thoughts towards God were so real! She doubts, trembles, and makes mistakes! Finally, a realistic character! That's what I love about Nadine Brandes; the characters have flaws, and amazing character development with great timing and logical points. Not perfection, pushy feminism, or just downright terrible development. This is the year 2901, and its a pretty interesting layout, and very intriging to seek more about. The characters were well done, and there were many great ways to show how other cultures and people view God. The beginning is slow, just her at her home with her family figuring out stuff, than action-packed, then slow again. But the ending is INSANE! Now, her family has flaws. Her realationship with her mom is shaky, as Parvin believes she doesn't like her too much. Finally! A real family! They have problems! A lot of fiction as too many perfect familys or just orphans. This one was good. Now the characters. Reid: A high quality man. This guy is so spectacular, and his humor is only slightly cringey, not enough to make me label it as cringe. Jude-man: ...Letz go. He is funny, cool, and whats best is hes not perfect, and has great development, in helping both men and woman who see or fight with anger. If he were real, I hang with him alot. Parvin: So relatable, so fun, so conflicted, and finding faith. Shes great. Some of her despicable decisions can be annoying, but thats just part of the character development, and it helps shape her. The characters all have problems that they take in their own way, and most of them leaves you wondering what their background is like! Overall, I'd say this book as a great plot, great development, good grammer, and amazing characters. But to warn, there is one chapter where a woman is in childbirth and goes naked for like two sentences, but the entire birth isn't heavily described enough to be disturbing.

So, at last, I'd rate this a 91/2(NOT 10?!)/10  and 12-Forever

Romance: Mild. Sub-plot. Well done. Violence: Mid. Animal attacks. Limb hacked off with an axe. Blood. Venom. Language: None.
